This 1991 Volkswagen Golf GTD is a right-hand-drive example that was imported by the seller to the United States from the United Kingdom in December 2021. The car is finished in metallic gray over a gray cloth interior and powered by a 1.6L turbodiesel inline-four mated to a five-speed manual transaxle. Features include multi-piece 16″ teardrop wheels, lowering springs, quadruple headlights, a rear tow ball, a sunroof, a Kenwood head unit, and heated front seats. Work performed under current ownership is said to have included replacing the valve cover gasket, clutch cable, left CV axle, and front wheel bearings. This Golf GTD is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, partial service records, a Carfax report, and a Delaware title in the seller’s name.

The car is said to have been refinished in metallic gray under previous ownership and wears black wheel arch flares as well as red trim accents on the grille and bumper covers. The quadruple front headlights feature power height adjustment and have been fitted with LED bulbs. Additional exterior details include a sunroof, a rear tow ball, a rear window wiper, a power antenna, and power-adjustable side mirrors. Multi-piece 16″ teardrop wheels show wear and are mounted with 165/45 Achilles ATR-K Economist tires. A non-matching spare is stored in the rear cargo area. The car rides on lowering springs, and braking is handled by four-wheel discs. The front wheel bearings were reportedly replaced in April 2022. The seller notes a whine from the power steering pump.

The right-hand-drive cabin features heated front bucket seats and a split folding rear bench upholstered in gray with red and gray striped cloth inserts. Additional appointments include a three-spoke steering wheel, a Kenwood head unit, power front windows, and VW-branded floor mats. The left-front window does not open all the way, and the dashboard is cracked.

VDO instrumentation consists of a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline, and gauges displaying fuel level and coolant temperature. Aftermarket boost, exhaust gas temperature, and oil pressure gauges are mounted in the center stack, though the seller states that they are not hooked up. The six-digit mechanical odometer indicates 293k miles, approximately 25k of which were added under current ownership.

The 1.6L turbodiesel inline-four is said to be equipped with a T3 turbocharger as well as a replacement front-mounted intercooler. The starter was reportedly replaced in November 2021, and the valve cover gasket along with the engine oil were replaced in preparation for the sale.

Power is sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The left CV axle and clutch cable are said to have been replaced in July 2022, and an aftermarket exhaust is fitted.
