This 1987 Volkswagen Golf GTI shows under 120k miles and was acquired by the seller six months ago from a family member who had passed away. Power comes from a 1.8-liter 16-valve four-cylinder coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission, and over $4k in work has been performed within the last 10k miles, including a new clutch, flywheel, timing belt, water pump, and more. A tune up with an oil and filter change was also recently performed. The car has reportedly resided in the Seattle, Washington area since new, and service records dating back to the original purchase are included. This MKII GTI is now being offered with a clean Carfax, owner’s books, and a clean Washington title in the seller’s name.

Finished in Diamond Silver Metallic, the exterior shows several chips and clear coat peeling in areas. A large chip can be seen on the lower driver’s door, and the black accent paint around the rear window is cracking. A spot of surface rust is noted below the passenger-side rear window.

The seats feature unique cloth inserts, and the seller mentions a new headliner has been installed. The steering wheel shows signs of wear, but the dashboard is noted to be free of cracks and all electrical items are in working order including the aftermarket Pioneer stereo. The driver’s seat has been recovered, though it appears loose in the bolsters.
